The birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, marked the beginning of the Lord’s church in Hayward, California. In October of 1988, four families opened their homes for the Study of God's Word. A Christmas celebration and caroling were some of the highlights.
During the first three months, more individuals gave their lives to Jesus Christ. This, through persistent house-to-house evangelism and discipleship. As they learn together, they have also discovered the need to know more and have sought to develop a deeper hunger and thirst for God and His Word.
FCCC hosted her first Worship Service in the early part of 1989. The group was first named, Filipino Community Christian Church. Worship Celebrations were held on Sunday afternoons with more than twenty people in attendance. Among the very first worshippers include, unchurched individuals who were longing and searching for a place of spiritual refuge, nourishment, Christian fellowship and service. The Lord continues to add, to His church, more souls that are being saved.
In June of 1989, FCCC became an official member of the Converge PacWest and Converge Worldwide. Able and faithful ministers who have dedicated and committed their lives to serve, were instrumental in the continuing growth of the Lord’s work. Desiring to pursue greater things for God, FCCC changed her name in 2011, to Faith Community Christian Church. This idea came out of the impression that God has laid in her heart to venture into a wider and deeper opportunity to reach out and touch more lives, from every nation, with the love of Jesus Christ.
Meantime, after more than two decades, with several different challenges, moving from place to place, in and around the East Bay area, by borrowing schools, hotels, civic and community centers and other church facilities in order to conduct the Lord’s work, God has greatly molded His ch urch to maintain perspective by putting Him first place in everything and never lose the vision of bringing souls to the love and saving knowledge of God’s Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The Lord God has allowed FCCC to become a “catalyst”. A faithful steward to change and activate the lives of hundreds of His flock. His church sees, observes and welcomes changes as they continue to unfold and never ceases to find ways and means to carefully and effectively accomplish the work of the ministry to His ultimate honor and glory.
